Youth will have the opportunity to explore science, health, wellness, and future careers through the Virginia 4-H Mobile Life Sciences Learning Lab! This interactive experience provides hands-on STEM learning.

Youth will rotate through engaging learning experiences that connect science concepts to real-world careers. Inside the Mobile Life Sciences Learning Lab, youth will explore six interactive stations:

  • Environment & Ecology: Benthos 360: Experience a virtual reality journey through a Southwest Virginia river ecosystem and discover how scientists monitor environmental health.
  • Animal Physiology: Digestion (Chicken vs. Cow): Compare digestive systems and learn how different animals process food.
  • Human Physiology: Digestion: Explore the amazing journey food takes through the human body.
  • Behavioral Health: Understanding Emotions: Learn to identify emotions and better understand how feelings affect our daily lives.
  • Human Physiology: Brain Science: Discover how the brain controls thoughts, actions, learning, and emotions.
  • Behavioral Health: Breathing & Grounding Techniques: Practice simple strategies that support focus, emotional regulation, and overall well-being.

Each station includes career connections, helping students explore a variety of professions related to science, healthcare, environmental studies, and wellness. Every participant will also receive a copy of the book Hospitals, Healthcare, Helicopters, and More, introducing additional career possibilities in health and medical fields.

By registering your youth, you also agree to registering your youth in 4-H Online AFTER October 1. You will receive step-by-step instructions on how to register once we have confirmed your spot.
