About

In this course, participants will learn how citizens can require the board of directors of ambulance and fire protection districts to hold elections on ballot issues, called referendums, through initiative petitions.Participants will also learn about a special initiative petition process to remove directors of such districts through recall elections.Participants will also learn the power of boards of directors of such districts to provide benefits to paid and unpaid employees.Participants will review the purchasing requirements for such districts, including quadrennial bidding requirements for interest-bearing bank accounts for fire protection districts.
