Certified Advanced Fire and Ambulance District Training: Changing Economic and Physical Boundaries (CP27134)

In this course, participants will discuss and learn about the financial impact city and county economic development boards can have on ambulance and fire protection districts and what responsibilities cities, counties, and such districts have regarding representation of such districts on those city and county economic development boards. Participants will also learn about the financial opportunities such districts have when cities and counties purchase private land for city or county-owned development. Participants will also discuss how the boundaries for such districts can be changed by district expansion/annexation, city annexation, shared services arrangements and management contracts, joint authority agreements, and consolidation, in addition to how such districts can be dissolved.
