About

Gain the knowledge and confidence to use a chainsaw safely to achieve your land management goals. Throughout four sessions, this workshop will cover the basics of chainsaw safety, including personal protective equipment, field safety, chainsaw maintenance, and safe cutting techniques. No prior chainsaw experience is necessary.

This workshop is hybrid, reverse-classroom format, consisting of 3 virtual sessions leading up to an in-person day of field practice. Virtual sessions will be held weekly on Zoom from 6:30 - 7:30 pm on November 5th, 12th, and 19th. Zoom sessions will be recorded for those who cannot attend live, but we do encourage you attend the live session if you are able. The field day will be held on Saturday, November 21st from 10 am - 4 pm. At the field day, participants will get the opportunity to practice chainsaw maintenance and cutting techniques.

Registration fee is $45.

Participants are asked to bring their own lunch for the field day.

Owning a chainsaw and personal protective equipment is not required to participate in this program. We will have extra equipment for participants to borrow if needed.
