About
Born Strong, Stay Healthy is a research-based strength and movement program from the University of Missouri Extension designed to help pregnant individuals, postpartum participants (with medical clearance), partners, and families with infants stay active, build strength, and support physical and mental wellbeing before, during, and after childbirth.
Purpose and Benefits
The program aims to:
Improve posture, core strength, balance, and endurance
Reduce pregnancy and postpartum discomfort
Build strength for daily parenting tasks
Lower stress and anxiety
Increase confidence in your body
Provide support from others in similar life stages
It is evidence-based, with updated prenatal and postpartum exercise guidelines, and is designed to be family-friendly and inclusive — children are welcome, baby wearing is encouraged, and exercises adapt to all fitness levels and stages of pregnancy or recovery
