About
The Tai Chi for Arthritis and Falls Prevention program is designed to improve multiple aspects of health through slow, gentle movements that can be practiced almost anywhere.
The degree of exertion can be easily adjusted, making this program suitable for adults of all levels and abilities.
Published medical studies have shown benefits, such as pain relief, improved balance, and reduced falls.
You will learn warm-up exercises, six basic and six advanced moves, and a cooldown during 16 one-hour classes, held twice a week. Harmony of inner and outer self comes from integrating mind and body, which can be achieved through the ongoing practice of tai chi.
The class begins on June 1, 2026, from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m., and will be held at the Ellington Nutrition Center, 100 East Walnut Street, Ellington, MO
The class will run for 8 weeks and will meet twice a week. The scheduled dates are June 1, 3, 8, 9, 15, 17, 22, 24, 29, and July 1, 6, 8, 13, 15, 27, 29
This $50 per person class is sponsored by a generous local donor and the Reynolds County MU Extension Council and will be offered at NO COST to attendees. Space is limited.
