About
Dear colleagues,
If you are new to canning and interested in learning safe and effective methods, we invite you to attend an upcoming workshop organized by the University of Missouri Extension. This FREE program (courtesy of the USDA through the Missouri Department of Agriculture) is designed to provide comprehensive guidance on the safe production of canned foods.
Participants will learn key U.S. FDA and Missouri state regulations governing canned food preservation from experienced instructors. The one-day workshop includes an informative lecture along with a live demonstration of safe canning practices, offering a valuable hands-on learning experience. This is an excellent opportunity for both beginners and food processors in Missouri to observe and understand proper canning techniques.
The training is in-person and limited to 15 participants, so early interest is encouraged.
Canning Demonstrations:
- Pickled Green Beans
- Dill Pickles
Date: April 27, 2026
