About
The mission of the Missouri Master Gardener Extension Program is “helping others learn to grow”. The Master Gardener program provides in-depth horticulture training to individuals throughout Missouri who then volunteer their time applying what they have learned to help others in their communities to learn about gardening and environmental education. The Master Gardener program is an opportunity for adults of all ages interested in lawns, trees, shrubs, flowers, vegetable gardens and like activities to learn and to share that knowledge with others.
Extension Master Gardener volunteers assist MU Extension by utilizing unbiased research-based information to educate, answer frequently asked gardening questions, present as speakers' bureaus, and share information.
To become trained as an Extension Master Gardener, an individual must attend a core training course and provide 30 hours of volunteer service back to their community.
- Cost: $200
Participants must be at least 16-years old to register. Class size is limited and early registration is encouraged.
Registration deadline is April 30, 2026.
