Join MU Extension Agriculture Field Specialists and the Clinton County Extension Council for Ag Entrepreneur Day, a learning and networking opportunity for small farmers and new landowners. The event will be held at the Community Courtyard in Plattsburg, Missouri, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 11, 2026. Registration and networking will begin at 9:30 a.m.
This exciting program is offered FREE of charge by the Clinton County Extension Council. Topics will support small farmers and new landowners, ranging from small livestock operations—including poultry—to commercial vegetable production, cut flowers, and marketing products produced on small farms.
Lunch will be provided by the Clinton County Extension Council. Registration is requested by April 8 to help plan for lunch, but not required for attendance.
This event will begin at 10:00 a.m. with Denice Ferguson, MU Extension Field Specialist in Agricultural Business, presenting Marketing Your Farm.
The day will continue with three concurrent sessions, each offering one‑hour workshops on the following topics:
- Buying a Horse and Horse Pasture Management with Shawn Deering, Field Specialist in Livestock
- Small Farmstead Livestock Operations with JIm Humphrey, Field Specialist in Livestock
- Backyard Poultry with Tatijana Fisher State Poultry Specialist at Lincoln University
- Commercial Vegetable Production with Todd Higgins, Field Specialist in Horticulture
- Evaluating Cut Flower Varieties with Gwen Funk, Field Specialist in Horticulture
- Soil Health with Wayne Flanary, Field Specialist in Agronomy
- Beekeeping with Travis Harper, Field Specialsit in Agronomy
- So, You’ve Bought an Acreage—Now What? with Jim Crawford, Field Specialist in Ag Engineering
