2026 Polk County Private Pesticide Applicator Training

This in-person course provides the Restricted Use Pesticide required training and certification for the Private Applicator's Category 20 – General Agricultural Pest Control license for agricultural producers who are 18 years and older. This training also applies to the Provisional Private Applicator's license for those 16 to 17 years of age and are an immediate family member of a certified private applicator.  Cost is $75

Supplemental Trainings will be offered upon request after core training:

- Private Pesticide Applicator Category 21 Supplemental Training: Soil Fumigation (1 hour)

- Private Pesticide Applicator Category 22 Supplemental Training: Non-Soil Fumigation (Grain Bin) (30-45 minute)

- Private Pesticide Applicator Category 23 Supplemental Training: Aerial Applicator (Drone) (30-45 minutes)

The training will not certify for commercial applicator licenses.  The Category 20 training will last 3 hours.  The time will be extended for those requesting additional categories.

We request preregistration and payment either online or you may pay at the door with cash or check.   You may also preregister by calling 417-326-4916 .   Preregistration better ensures that we can contact you if plans change due to weather or scheduling issues.  Training is conducted by Tim Schnakenberg, Field Specialist in Agronomy.
