About
The Horsemen's webinar series is a free quarterly webinar for horse owners, managers, or youth to learn from the experts on various topics related to horse care and ownership.
Equine Protozoal Myeloencephalitis is a central nervous system disease in horses caused by protozoan parasites. This disease can cause behavioral changes, muscle atrophy, and gait abnormalities in some horses. Research suggests that roughly 50% of horses have been exposed to the most common protozoal pathogen Sarcocystis neurona, making this a widespread issue for horse owners.
Dr. Lynn Martin, Assistant Teaching Professor of Equine Internal Medicine, University of Missouri Veterinary Medicine, will discuss how EPM impacts horses, how to monitor horses for it, and potential treatment options.
If unable to attend on the 2nd, this webinar will be recorded and will be sent directly to those who register for this webinar.
December's webinar is a presentation by MU Equine Internal Medicine Veterinarian, Lynn Martin. She will discuss “Stumbling, Weakness, and Worry: Understanding EPM”.
The meeting will be recorded and sent out later so if you are unable to attend for the live webinar, you will be able to access the recording later.
