Berrien County Organic Agriculture: Tour 3 Value-Added & Agritourism Farms
July 31 | Southwest Michigan Farm Tour
Spend a summer day exploring the heart of Berrien County agriculture with a visit to three outstanding farms—each offering a unique window into organic growing, regenerative practices, and ways to welcome the public onto farms.
10:00–11:15 AM | Tower Hill Farm
Kick off the day at Tower Hill Farm, a family‑owned, certified organic orchard and vegetable farm rooted in stewardship and sustainability. Known for their apples, blueberries, and diverse organic vegetables, Tower Hill pairs hands‑on growing with a strong connection to local food systems. Visitors will experience a working farm that balances productivity with ecological care, including orchards, hoop houses, and a bustling market barn.
11:45 AM–1:45 PM | Lunch and a Tour at Flatwater Farms
Enjoy a relaxed, farm‑fresh lunch at Flatwater Farms, followed by a tour of their certified organic farm celebrated for innovation and regenerative agriculture. Flatwater grows more than 40 varieties of vegetables, herbs, and hops while using geothermal energy, beekeeping, and soil‑building practices to restore the land. The farm is also home to hops grown for an on‑site farmhouse brewery, making it a vibrant destination where food, community, and creativity meet.
2:15–3:30 PM | Granor Farm
End the day at Granor Farm, one of the region’s most well‑known certified organic farms and a leader in farm‑to‑table experiences. Granor grows over 100 varieties of organic vegetables, grains, herbs, and flowers and is widely admired for its beautiful farm store and immersive greenhouse dinners. With a strong emphasis on education, community, and culinary excellence, Granor showcases what’s possible when farming and food culture grow together.
