About

Join us on Friday October 23rd from 8:00am-3:30pm at George Washington Carver Farm for an opportunity to learn about sheep and goat meat processing, regulations, and marketing strategies.

There will be presentations throughout the day on Missouri state regulations for meat processing from the Missouri Department of Agriculture, value added sheep and goat products, increasing profitability, and aligning breeding with the best marketing season.

Engage in the meat cutting demonstration with hands on activities to learn how a carcass is broken down, the variety of cuts available, and anatomically where products come from.

Take advantage of our open panel discussion on Navigating Modern Market Entry Strategies to get answers to your burning questions regarding meat processing, rules and regulations, what classifies as cottage foods, marketing pathways, and insight from a meat processor who also raises livestock.

This event is free to attend. Lunch will be provided. We hope to see you there!

This project was made possible by funding from NCR SARE grant.
